Ressurrected by the Sunflower Tag

I absolutely detest writer’s block, it’s been such a bother. However my dear friend Maribeth tagged me over at her blog Formidable Courage, so now I have a tag to do! Yay!

Rules:

1. Share 11 facts about yourself.

2. Answer the questions set by your Nomination Blogger

3. Nominate 11 bloggers.

4. Set questions for the nominated bloggers.

1. I’m fast becoming a Harry Potter fan; I’ve seen the first five movies and have quite enjoyed them. I look forward to seeing the last three and hopefully reading the books later. And yes, I’m a Hufflepuff, according to several tests…

2. I take great pride in my personal DVD collection.

3. I can make balloon animals.

4. I can be quite lazy and I know I’m holding myself back when I am.

5. This is one of my favorite quotes and I have been trying very hard to remember it whenever I become intimidated with being vulnerable or honest, whether online or being out of the house. I want to stop apologizing for being me.

DANG IT, THAT IS SUCH A GOOD CODE TO LIVE BY.

6. I’ve been rewatching The Office lately. I forgot how much fun the early seasons are and how far the show fell when Michael’s character left. *sobs*

7. I’ve been attempting to get into this habit of drinking a glass of water right when I go to bed and right when I get up. I’ve read that this is apparently a good thing to do, from several sources. But please don’t ask me why because I don’t know. I’m just doing it…

8. I love Doritos chips. A lot. Specifically Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese. YUM.

9. I am currently addicted to playing the Jelly Splash app on my iPod.

10. Hot Topic is my favorite mall store because they actually sell Disney clothes for gals my age!

11. I’m very excited for Captain America The Winter Soldier. It can’t come any quicker!

Here are Maribeth’s questions!

1. Who is your favorite character in the Bible (besides Jesus)? I like Joseph with his coat of many colors. 🙂 His story is very encouraging.

2. Do you consider yourself an outdoor person? If so, what are your favorite outdoor activities? I don’t really consider myself an outdoors person. Then again, I live in a very hot city, so can you blame me?

3. If you could live anywhere in the United States, where would it be? Washington or Oregon. One of those states. THEY GET RAIN.

4. What noble character quality do you admire the most? Humility. Not the abusive idea of humility where you can’t ever say a good word about yourself or you let people walk all over you, but the humility where you can acknowledge when you make a mistake and can take care of it right. Basically, I really admire the opposite of pride, that idea that you can never be wrong.

5. In what ways has God comforted you in the recent past? God comforts me a lot through my Mom. And actually, something really big happened a little while ago but I can’t talk about it quite yet. Hopefully sooner than later though. 😀

6. You are offered a choice of three fattening (but hearty!) entrées: a cheeseburger, ultra-British fish and chips, or lasagna. What do you choose?  Cheeseburger, hold the cheese, please. 🙂 Eight times out of ten, I will pick the hamburger, unless the restaurant we’re at serves awesome wings. Or pizza.

I have no mental energy at the moment to pick out specific people (if I follow you, I think you definately deserve a sunshine award for sure :D), so any of you who like my questions below are free to do this on their blog. 😀

1. If you could only keep two of your five senses, which would they be?

2. What is your opinion of the Harry Potter series; if you like it, who are your favorite characters and what house do you belong? If you don’t, do you hold your standards for Harry Potter against other series with magic like Lord of the Rings, Merlin or The Chronicles of Narnia? Why or why not?

3. What three movies are you looking forward to most this year?

4. What sport do you dislike the most and why? (not understanding it is not really a reasonable answer. Sorry.)

5. Do you use Pandora Radio? If you do, what are your favorite stations to listen to?

6. What Internet browser do you use?

7. Opinion on popcorn.

8. Recall something kind or thoughtful someone outside your family did or said to you that made a lasting impression with you; say a quick thank you and then privately think about how you could do something similar to someone else.

Let me know if you do the tag; I’ll come read your answers and comment. 😀

  1. Oh wow, I looooooove that quote from Game of Thrones! I don’t know much about the show but that is a good quote. Great answers all! 😀

  2. Ah, finally a few things that I did not already know about you. 😉

You can make balloon animals? Cool!

I usually find it difficult to re-watch an entire TV series. There are a lot of shows that I enjoy, but other than re-watching favorite episodes of comedies or Doctor Who or Cowboy Bebop episodes for review, I do not generally re-watch TV. Maybe I am odd. Well, since my blog relies on me watching and reviewing new content, I usually just watch something new. 🙂 That was a random tangent. 😉

You have not seen anything yet with Harry Potter! It is just getting good now. 🙂 Well, Order of the Phoenix is my second favorite of the series, so you have seen that though. Anyway, the later movies are great!

Good questions! If I can’t think of anything to post Saturday, I might decide to answer these tag questions. 🙂 But I’m not sure if I will have the time for any blogging other than posting what I wrote earlier though. :/

Can’t wait for the Winter Soldier!

    1. LOL I know, right!!? 😛

Yes, it’s lots of fun–I can also make balloon swords too, they are very fun to play with. 😛

It makes sense that you don’t rewatch a lot of stuff since you review things as a serious hobby. 😀

I’m excited to see the next three; I started Half Blood Prince last night but it got stuck in the middle so now I have to wait til Tuesday for a Netflix one to come in for me to finish it. 😦

Whether you do them or not, I still always enjoy reading your blog!!

      YEEEEESSS! 😀

  3. “I’ve been attempting to get into this habit of drinking a glass of water right when I go to bed and right when I get up. I’ve read that this is apparently a good thing to do, from several sources. But please don’t ask me why because I don’t know. I’m just doing it…”
From what I’ve read, drinking water before bed and before meals helps your gastrointestinal tracts to process food. If you digest easily and well, your body functions better overall!

HARRY POTTER. Apparently, I’m Slytherin…not sure how to feel about that. Eh, let’s take the Tyrion quote: I will ROCK being Slytherin 😉

Also, that humility quote is spot-on, and very excellent. It reminds me of the Lewis quote: “True humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.” (I think that’s Lewis?)

    1. Oh, cool! That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for answering my curiosity. 🙂

Several years ago I took a very broad test for all sorts fandoms and came out Slytherin as well. I think they’re pretty cool and simply stereotyped as bad guys. 😀

Yes, that is CS Lewis! Very very true!!! 😀

  4. Hi Jamie! Did you see the Oscars? O only saw part because I had to go to bed:( ANYWAY
That is a totally fantastic quote! It reminds me how important it is to recognize your flaws, and not be afraid to admit them.
I’m going to answer just your first question here if you don’t mind.
I would keep my sense of touch and my hearing. I would sorely miss my sight, though, what with my love of movies. But there is Braille and audiobooks, so…it’s a very difficult question, though! I can’t imagine being with only two senses, though I suppose Helen Keller figured it out.
I found a new author by the name of Shannon Hale and I really like her books! They’re very good! I’m also waiting for The Elite by Kiera Cass from the library, which I can’t wait to read and am impatiently waiting for. Someone put it on hold between the day I looked at the catalogue and the day i went to the library, which I beleive was directly afterward. I was looking forward so much to getting it. I should have put it on hold. Alas!
I’m trying to finish my senior year of highschool by April, and it means alot of very hard work. I fell behind, see, so I’ve got a semester to do in a month. You think with that sort of deadline I could concentrate for once in my life, but apparently not. I am trying though.

    1. Hi Spork! No, I didn’t get to see the Oscars *cries* but I saw most of it unfold on Tumblr, lol. 😀

      Completely agree!

I agree with hearing; I would keep my hearing over eyesight anyday. Although I would cry for years because I’d miss Marvel movies, I could never give up music. Never. 😀 Your choices are great!

DARN that happened once to me. I will have to look her up sometime! But do take advantage of the holds, they can save a lot of heart ache. 😦

Good luck to your and your studying! I also can have a hard time even with deadlines, so I totally know how you feel. I’m glad you’re trying; try not to beat yourself that much on the bad days, too. 🙂

  5. Also just realized that that last comment was mostly me gabbing and very little actual commenting. I hope you don’t mind.

    1. That is totally welcome and fine, I don’t mind a bit! I’m glad my blog and me feels safe enough for you and others to talk so freely that it turns into rambles! 😀 It’s fun to get to know each other like that! 😀 *hugs*

      ~Jamie

  6. Your questions are so fun. 🙂 It’s awesome you make balloon animals; I tried to recently but they unwound themselves rather quickly…hehe. 🙂

    P.S. I’ve missed your posts. 🙂 xox

    1. Thanks, I spent extra time trying to think of ones I hadn’t necessarily seen before on other tags. 🙂 LOL about the unwinding! You do have to hang onto to the sections or they can get away from you! Haha!! 😛

It’s nice to hear I’ve been missed. I hope my writer’s block lifts quickly so I can get back to blogging more regularly again. 😀

      ~Jamie
