1 Week Writing Challenge with The Climb

One of my good blogging friends Emily is celebrating three years of blogging and decided to host a week writing challenge. Since I love both Emily and writing, I decided I wanted to support her and attempt the writing challenge. Oh, go check out her blog, The Climb.

Today, we’re suppose to talk about a current writing project.

While I’m not writing any stories at the moment, my current project is my fantasy story. The working title right now is Forever Fairy and it will hopefully be my NaNoWriMo book. I’m currently world building and am still in the creative side of coming up with a good plot and some different characters.ย  Here is a working tag line:

Two teenagers find themselves trapped in a fantasy world inside a cursed novel and discover that they can only return home if they see the book out to the end and help steer the book to an actual happy ending.

Yes, I just wrote that up, and there’s a lot more to it than that, but that’s the basic gist of what I want to the story to be about.

In all honesty, I’m mad at myself for starting another fantasy story. Fantasy is NOT my strong suit at all and I already knew that before this book started to take shape. However, inspiration struck me like lightning one day and the idea has not stopped growing. While feeling reluctant, I’m also excited. Depending on how well I manage to flush out the world and it’s cultures, I could easily see two more books taking shape. However, I’m getting ahead of myself. We’ll see how well I can write this first one before I start a series!

I’m interested to see what else the challenge will hold!!! If you’re interested in doing this, don’t be afraid to join! Let both me and Emily know, and I’ll be sure to check out your posts too if you join!

  1. As I said before I really like your idea. ๐Ÿ™‚ In some ways it reminds me of an old school video game named “Comix Zone” were the character is stuck inside a comic book.
I have always wondered why a movie with that concept has never really been made, I think it could really work.

    1. I know, I keep thinking, “Someone else has got to have come up with this idea before, in some shape or form!” It’s sorta like Narnia, I suppose, but not really, because my characters don’t just accidentally walk in and they can’t just walk out when they want to either. Thanks for the encouragement!

Your novel idea sounds really great–I can’t wait to hear more, once you start writing!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you very much; I can give you updates through NaNo mail maybe once I do start writing. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
