Kitten Pictures

27 Jun

me sitting up late last night

Princess with baby Number One, freshly licked

Princess with numbers One, Two and Three

As of now, I don’t have any good shots of all five, but hopefully by tomorrow that will be solved. But anywhere, here are some of the better shots from last night. The bottom one was actually taken this morning, as well.

Who thinks Heimdall would make a good name for a boy cat? LOL (if you haven’t seen Thor, than I don’t expect you to understand.)

the kittens are here

27 Jun

Last night at about ten in the evening, Princess went into labor. I noticed it first, as she came over panting very heavily and squatting funny on the backdoor mat. I quickly put her in the box and for the first time, she didn’t get out. I quickly sounded the cry that the kittens were on the way. We went inside to wait, as your supposed to leave cats alone when they have their kittens. But she got out of the box and cried at the door for attention.

Mom and I sat outside the box with her and watched her having contractions for a while. She meowed and cried very loudly and than leapt out of the box, ran over the back door mat and delivered it there. It looked just like her. She cleaned it up and ate the sack and everything, than Mom and I put them back in the box. The second one came about fifteen minutes later and it was the spitting image of the father, Solo, with a completely black body outside of four white mittens. With each kitten, Princess got quicker at knowing what to do. In total, she had five kittens. I didn’t get to bed to 1:00 in the morning as I wanted to supervise and give her attention, considering she had climbed out of the box when we had left.

I’m quite tired this morning, and we’re battling the heat with her outside (it’s about 101 degrees out). Princess is still panting very heavily and we’re trying to keep her as cool as possible. All five kittens are strong and loud. We’re thankful for the relatively easy delivers; especially since this was Princess’s first time.

Pictures to come soon. :D

Note to Self//Stories to Finish

25 Jun

After graduating this fall, I’m strongly considering putting a lot of my fresh free time into my gift; writing fictional stories. I’ll be working on finishing up several stories I’ve started and delving into several story ideas that are only the beginning stages in my head. The books and short stories I need to complete and try to start are as follows:

Working Title: The Teddy Bear Detective

Desired Length: Short story, beginning partly written

Genre: Mystery, Humor, Young Adult (I could easily make this a children’s novel, actually, but, at the same time I can make it a playful adult novel too.)

Working Title: Two Knights and a Princess, my NaNoWriMo novel

Desired Length: Full length novel, already 50,000 words written

Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

Working Title: Blair’s Return Home

Desired Length: Full length novel, first draft mostly written, has been on hold for over two years

Genre: Young Adult, could maybe fit under mystery

Working Title: High School Murder

Desired Length: Full length novel though it may end up being only a novella; opening pages are written

Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Young Adult

Working Title: Cops and Robbers

Desired Length: this is actually supposed to be a short story, but I can easily see it turning into a novella, but I really don’t want that too happen. It would be too much to print out for Dylan to read! :P

Genre: Action, Mystery, Humor

Working Title: From My Mirror

Desired Length: Full length novel, could possible be only a novella

Genre: Thriller, Horror, Mystery

Working Title: Has none. It is, at the moment, simply a silly idea of throwing myself and my friends into a Narnian Adventure, because I think writing us into Narnia would be fairly easily.

Desired Length: would probably start off as a short story

Genre: Fantasy, Young Adult

Note: is being considered as a writing challenge only

one more soundtrack for my little collection

21 Jun

I know I just published a post today, but whateve’.

I love Iron Man AKA Tony Stark. I love the Iron Man movie. And I LOVE the Iron Man soundtrack. Guess what just became mine today?! It finally came in the mail, unharmed and beautiful. Little bro and I sat on the loveseat thumpin’ to the music for a little while together after I got the box open. It’s one of the coolest soundtracks ever. I like the mix of traditional and contemporary together–it is Iron Man in musical notes. And it’s mine. Whooohoo!
